Q : Dear doc, I am 7 months pregnant & have developed fever & cold. My neighbor is diagnosed
Swine flu positive. Should I see the doctor? If I am given Tami flu tablets, will it affect my unborn child?
- P.S. Thane.

A : Yes, you definitely need to see the doctor as you belong to the high risk group for swine flu as pregnancy is a natural immuno suppressed state. If you test positive for H1N1 infection, you will have to take the tablets as the complications of swine flu can be serious. Tami flu is not yet known to cause any ill effect on the unborn.
